Getting down in the 'burgh

AE Honick- Official Myspace- moved back from Hollywood , California in the Spring of 2009 to his hometown of Pittsburgh , PA. He returned home to try and help the resurgence in the Pittsburgh Music Scene as well as form a full band. That is when THE SOUL SHAKEDOWN was added to the groove.

AE Honick & The Soul Shakedown have been together since May, 2009 and premiered the New Full Band for the first time @ Club Diesel in the South Side in Pittsburgh, PA - May 20th , 2009. Their first show together in fact was a Benefit Concert for Autism Awareness, then the word of AE Honick's new full band project got around the Pittsburgh circuit and they quickly filled up their booking schedule. Being selected as one the Best New Bands in Pittsburgh, AE Honick & The Soul Shakedown were invited to compete in the Joker Productions ROCK OFF @ Club Diesel in the summer of 2009. After winning their round of the Rock Off , The Shakedown advanced to the finals, but had to settle for Runners-up. The band rounded out their premeire summer season with a big show @ The Annual Carnegie Arts and Heritage Festival in Carnegie , PA in early September.

While AE Honick kept up with weekly solo acoustic bookings, founding members of The Soul Shakedown ( Mike Lynch- Keys , Brandon Payne- Lead Guitar) had educational and professional duties to return to and were forced to step away from the band. Unlike most ending of bands, the whole Shake Down Crew understand each others needs and dedications to other projects. That is why you will see Shake Down alumni back and sharing the stage from now and then, and in the crowd at each others concerts with nothing but love and support to share for each other.

With the new year, brought new lead guitar player Ricky Minella and bigger and brighter opportunities coming soon for AE Honick & The Soul Shakedown. Stayed tuned for some great things coming in 2010 from the Shakedown Crew.
